Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

在 指 望 中 要 喜 樂 . 在 患 難 中 要 忍 耐 。 禱 告 要 恆 切 .

Hope is such an essential and fundamental element of Christian life. It is the substance on which faith is activated. It is akin to trust and a confident expectation. It is the anticipation of a favorable outcome under God’s guidance.

Rejoice means to jump for joy. Ecstatic indeed as we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Hope never abandons you, only you will abandon it.

Because we rejoice in hope, we need to be patient in tribulation. It is not that we like pains. Problems we run into will develop our patience, which in turn will strengthen our character, produce experience, deepen our trust in God and give us greater confidence about the future.

Continuing instant in prayer reminds us to be earnest towards praying. Prayer changes things, people and situations. John Bunyan once remarked, “Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.”

Amen!
