Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

各 人 要 隨 本 心 所 酌 定 的 ．不 要 作 難 、不 要 勉 強 ．因 為 捐 得 樂 意 的 人 、 是 神 所 喜 愛 的 。

Indeed God loves cheerful givers. The value of a gift is not determined by its amount, but by the spirit in which it is given. A gift given grudgingly or for recognition loses its value. Our attitude when we give is more important than the amount we give. We don’t have to be embarrassed if we can give only a small gift.

When you give, take heart – gifts of any size are pleasing to God when they are given out of gratitude and generosity. God is concerned about how we give from the resources we have.
